Shelby Created a Mean GT Performance Pack for the EcoBoost Mustang

BOLD RIDE

You’d be a fool to think that the new EcoBoost Ford Mustang isn’t a real performer, but the turbocharged four-cylinder engine puts out 310-horsepower, 320 lb-ft torque, and will get you to 60 mph in just 5.2 seconds. That’s quicker than the V6. Now Shelby wants to up the ante with an even hotter GT Performance Pack.

Off the bat, it looks like a serious performance machine. The exterior is more aggressive, with 20-inch wheels and Michelin Pilot Sport tires. There’s also a new hood, spoiler, rocker panels, and grille—all made from carbon fiber, of course. But the performance doesn’t just cover the exterior.

The EcoBoost engine has been upgraded to produce 335 horsepower, 25 more ponies than the standard Mustang from factory. The upped horsepower figure comes courtesy of PedalMax and BoostMax upgrades, not to mention a tuned Borla performance exhaust.

To handle this newfound performance from the inside, Shelby made sure to fit the interior with a roll-cage, racing seats, a 5-point harness, and even a short-throw shifter. That equipment will be part of a big list of options.

The GT Performance Pack can be installed at any Shelby certified shop around the world, and starts at just $23,995. That’s not including the price of your new EcoBoost Mustang ($23,395).

But hurry, Shelby says it will only produce a limited amount, each one being ordered on a first come first serve basis.
