Dodge Viper Sedan Concept Ticks All the Wrong Boxes

BOLD RIDE

Warning: those of you with weak stomachs may want to turn back now. With the demise of the Dodge Viper looming ever so closely, some artists are pulling out all the stops to show off a Viper that Dodge might actually want to keep around. This isn’t one of them.

The concept comes from artist Theophilus Chin, and it imagines a Dodge Viper—specifically a Viper TA—with four doors, a stubby body, and some weird proportions. From the back we’ll at least admit that it does look much better. But what it lacks in style, it more than makes up for in power.

Keeping the same 8.4-liter V10 under the hood (hypothetically), you could think of it as an American Aston Martin Rapide or Porsche Panamera rival. After all, no matter how ugly it is, if you’re getting it to 60 mph in 3.5 seconds you can’t really complain too much.

Alas, this is just a concept that will undoubtedly never see the light of day. But the real, and more scary proposition, is that the Dodge Viper will end production altogether in 2017. We’ll be sad to see it go.
