Jay Leno alternately makes us all happy and incredibly jealous with the cars he gets to drive on his show, Jay Leno’s Garage. The web series recently released a little teaser of an upcoming episode featuring the Ford GT that everyone is dying to get their hands on.
Leno gives only the tiniest of sneak peeks at the car just to get everyone that much more excited for it and to convince us to watch when the episode airs. Consider us convinced. There are so many details that Ford hasn’t revealed and who knows what might come out in the episode.
Leno isn’t new to interviewing and his casual demeanor and fanboy attitude toward cars could help him eke out a few facts. There are no official output numbers although they’ve promise more than 600 horsepower. How much more is anyone’s guess at this point.
According to Autoblog, if you look at Forza Motorsport 6, then you might get a little clue at the real car’s numbers. It says the car has 630 horsepower and 539 lb-ft of torque from its 3.5-liter twin turbo V6. Only 250 will be built each year, so no matter the numbers, this is going to be an exclusive car.
What makes this teaser interesting is the fact that it looks like we’re going to be treated to a lot of unique features an easter eggs. For instance, the pontoons for each of the rear wheels contains the intakes for the intercoolers. What you might not know is that the intercooler exhaust leaves through a vent in the center of each taillight. If that is the only bit we got out of this teaser, then we can’t wait to see the whole thing when it airs!
