1975 Mercedes-Benz Unimog is Adorable and Headed to Auction

First, you had your G.I. Joes. Then you made couch forts. Then you played paintball and spent hours with your friends doing Call of Duty online co-op. It’s time to upgrade and take the next step in your life-long interest in the military by buying an authentic Mercedes-Benz Unimog.

This gorgeous 1975 406 Doppelkabine 4×4 has had a bunch of work done to keep it looking like this. It was repainted “Enzian Blue” the gearbox was “overhauled,” the brakes were redone, the exhaust has been replaced, and there’s even new door trim and seat covers.

The post-WWII machine, which is still in production today, remains one of the most unique and versatile 4x4s ever. Features like a flexible chassis frame have allowed it to serve various functions for fire departments, municipalities, and armies. It even has winning experience in the Dakar Rally.

Only 353 examples of this particular Unimog, the 406.145 dual cabin model were created. Its powered by a 5.7-liter six-cylinder diesel that puts out 84 horsepower.
