BOLD RIDE
The 2015 Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat and its partner, the 2015 Dodge Charger SRT Hellcat grabbed everyone’s attention when they were introduced last year. It’s hard not to pay attention to cars that look that good, sound that good, and have a mind-blowing 707 horsepower. They weren’t expected to sell in huge numbers, but Chrysler put no limit on how many they’d make and that number is a lot higher than expected.
The appeal isn’t just the horsepower, but the fact that you don’t need to be incredibly wealthy to afford one of these beasts. They start at under $65,000 so while they’re not cheap, they’re still very attainable for those who want the ultimate in muscle cars.
According to Automotive News, orders have been placed for over 9,000 Hellcats at dealerships across the US. That’s a great number of units for any car, but to sell that many of a high performance car with a $65K price tag is an impressive feat.
The drawback to the cars’ popularity is that the automaker is having a hard time keeping up with orders. It doesn’t mean that you can’t get yourself a Hellcat, but that you might have to wait a little while for your slice of the Hellcat pie to arrive.
