The wait is finally over. Almost. Muscle car fans, get ready to see the 2016 Chevrolet Camaro in the flesh on May 16, on Belle Isle in Detroit with a whole new look, and a whole new/old badge.
Chevy is inviting 1,000 fans out to witness the new Camaro’s unveiling at Belle Isle, and don’t worry, it’s completely free. Though, make sure you sign up here before it fills up.
(Priority is given to current Camaro owners.) The event will also include a “Camaro Museum” display, looking back at the previous five generations of the car, and a meet and greet with designers and engineers.
The new look of the badge honors the classic Camaro, first appearing on the car in the 1970s. Featuring the same red, white, and blue insignia, and the word “CAMARO” emblazoned on the top, it’s a nod to the new retro styling the 2016 model will bring to the table.
“This will be an event Camaro fans will not want to miss,” said Camaro marketing manager Todd Christensen. “This is only the sixth time we have introduced an all-new Camaro.
We wanted to share the moment with the customers and fans who have helped make Camaro both America’s favorite performance car for the past five years and a cultural icon since 1967.”
