The 2015 Black Label Saleen Mustang is the most powerful Saleen Mustang ever made. Ever. At 730 horsepower and 600 lb-ft torque, that also makes it the most powerful Mustang you can buy in production right now.
Originally, it was promoted it as a 640-horsepower Mustang. All that got thrown out the window at this weekend’s introduction.
Of course, there’s a simple way to boost the performance of the Kenne-Bell twin-screw supercharger in the 5.0-liter engine. Just find 95 octane gas. According to Saleen that’s going to notch power up to 750 horses.
It’s a stunner with low profile tires perched on five-spoke alloy wheels. Building on its racing heritage, Saleen started off by raising the all-new, four-wheel, independent suspension for better handling.
“We have spent a lot of time with aerodynamics,” founder Steve Saleen said in his introductory remarks before a packed house at its headquarters in California. “We spent a lot of time on lift over drag.”
The interior has been resurfaced with calfskin. The interior also features Saleen signature white face gauges
It may be a Black Label Saleen Mustang but its color is a special hue of yellow called “California Sunset.” The perception of the color changes, Saleen claims, based on the strength of the sunlight.
The 2015 Saleen 302 Black Label will have a starting price of $73,214.
