The Galpin Rocket is a 725 horsepower 2015 Ford Mustang that was first unveiled back at the 2014 Los Angeles Auto Show. Now the car has actually made it into production and they’ve released these stunning photos of the very first one.

It was designed by Galpin Auto Sports and Henrik Fisker to be the ultimate muscle car with a powerful supercharged 5.0-liter V8 and a host of bodywork upgrades.

This might be the most modern Mustang yet with a carbon fiber body as proof, but it takes cues from the classic styling of the 1960s and 1970s pony cars. It was particularly influenced by Fisker’s favorite, the 1968 Shelby GT500.

In addition to the more powerful engine, the Galpin Rocket also gets new headlights, a carbon fiber front splitter and rocker panels and a more aggressive rear diffuser. There re also black 20″ alloy wheels and a new exhaust system and suspension componentry.

The Galpin Rocket will be a low-volume production vehicle targeting collectors and enthusiasts so don’t expect to see one cruising around your neighborhood. Where you will definitely be able to see it is at the Amelia Island Concours d’Elegance on Saturday, March 14th. The production model will make its world debut at the event.
