Fresh off two big debuts at the Geneva Motor Show, Koenigsegg — the company responsible for the world’s most extreme hypercars — may be in the market of building sedans. At least, sometime in the near future.

Sitting down with CEO Christian von Koenigsegg in Geneva, TopGear reports that the Swedish marque will build a sedan “maybe within the next five years, possibly earlier than that.”

With the recently unveiled Regera and Agera RS hypercars, a sedan could be the next logical step in the automaker’s lineup.

What Koenigsegg doesn’t want to do, though, is take on the likes of the Porsche 911 or Ferrari 458. “To me, in the last few years, that sector — the 911, the McLaren the Ferrari 458, etc — is a hornet’s nest which I want to stay well away from.”

So while we may see a sexy Swedish super sedan in the next few years, don’t hold your breath on anything from Koenigsegg to take on the 458 or 650S.
