Travato Shows Off the Sexier Side of Winnebago

Travato

Want to know the secret to making a Ram Pro Master desirable? Slap a Winnebago Travato on top of it. This is probably the hottest motorhome on the market.

The 2015 Travato — a Class B motorhome — sits atop a Ram ProMaster chassis with a V6 gas engine that gets an estimated 16-18 mpg on the highway. Now that gas is cheap the Travato is going to be a good choice for retirees to see the USA.

At the same time, it’s also potentially a family vehicle. Inside it has a corner double Murphy bed that flips out of the way. You could throw a couple younger kids in there— or your pets if you like to travel with them.

This is a ride for the technologically savvy. It has a U-Connect 5.0 Infotainment Center with touch screen, voice command, and steering wheel controls.

It features AM/FM radio with CD/DVD player, SiriusXM satellite radio, hands-free Bluetooth, iPod/iPhone audio integration, speed-adjusted audio levels, compass, color rearview camera, and integrated GPS with navigation and turn-by-turn voice guidance.

Like any good Winnebago, it’s also packed with other stuff like a powered awning with LED lights and LED ceiling lights that reduce energy consumption by up to 70 percent, extending battery life when dry camping. (As opposed to all that wet camping I did as a Boy Scout.)

It also has a powered entrance step; swivel cab seats; three-point seat belts on forward-facing bench seat; full-featured galley; refrigerator/freezer with removable freezer unit; MCD blackout roller shades; and, exterior speaker system. So now you can travel comfortably without giving up your style.
