Hennessey Venom GT Spyder Puts out A Ridiculous 1451 Horsepower

BOLD RIDE

The Hennessey Venom GT is an absolutely bonkers vehicle. Basically, it is a stretched out Lotus Exige, with a 7-liter twin-turbo V8 stuffed behind the driver. When it first debuted it devolved an astonishing 1,244 horsepower and set a Guinness World Record for top speed in a production car. But Hennessey was not content.

The 2016 Hennessey Venom GT Spyder now puts out an absolutely absurd 1451 horsepower. That is an increase of 207 horsepower over the existing model, which is basically the entire output of your average family sedan. This is getting out of control, and we couldn’t be happier.

The car now is able to run on E85 FlexFuel, which in turn allows the boost of the twin-turbochargers to be cranked from 19 psi up to 26 psi, resulting in the power increase. Hennessey says in with the newfound power, the Venom GT will get from zero to sixty in 2.4 seconds, hit 200 mph in 12.8 seconds, and top out at over 280 miles per hour!

Only a handful of these E85-capable Venom GTs will be built for the 2016 model year. After that, the Venom GT will be replaced by the much-anticipated Venom F5. Few will ever get to drive this car, but you can check it out at the 2015 SEMA show in Las Vegas, Nov 3-6.
