2015 Mustang Golf Cart Costs Almost As Much As a Regular Mustang

BOLD RIDE

Some say golf is a rich man’s game. Judging by the golf carts coming out of the Caddyshack camp, that seems to be 100 percent true. With a lineup that already includes the SVT Raptor, the Shelby Cobra, and three versions of the previous generation of Mustang (including the Super Snake), the Palm Desert, Calif.-based company is producing both gas and electric carts that cost anywhere between $15-20,000. The newest Mustang is the next ridiculous offering.

Let’s thing about that for a second. A base 2015 Ford Mustang has a starting MSRP of $23,800. And Caddyshack is asking more than 15 stacks for this cart. Sure, it has 12-inch SVT wheels, functioning front and rear lights, a four-speaker Alpine stereo system, carpeted floor mats, and a 19.5mph top speed. But still.

For that much cash, you could find yourself a nice Honda S2000, a sweet Subaru WRX, or sweet Pontiac G8. Or if you’re really looking for that open-air feel, you can grab yourself a brand new Ducati Scrambler.

Ironically, the design of the front end of this cart is kind of the opposite of what the new pony car is about. This front end looks massive, very upright, and bulky. The actual car is much more lean and wide-looking. Shrugs. If you want to buy one of these, they’re available starting in June.
