BOLD RIDE
This beautiful 1962 Ferrari 400 Superamerica SWB Cabriolet recently set a record when it went up for auction. The highly collectible car sold for $7,645,000 over the weekend. That tops the price of a previous example which was sold a few months earlier for $6.38 million.
The Ferrari Superamerica was chassis no. 3309 SA and is the last of its kind. The production run on this car was 47 units with just seven bodied by Pininfarina. This convertible with a removable hardtop and covered lights is the last of those seven cars.
According to Autoblog, this example spent time as a show car at the Geneva and New York auto shows sporting a red over tan color scheme and eventually made its way to the Bonneville Salt Flats with its first owner. Since then, the car has passed through several hands, receiving multiple restorations and awards before becoming joining the Paul and Chris Andrews collection.
