2016 Chevy Camaro Shooting Brake: Love It or Hate It?

BOLD RIDE

2016 Chevrolet Camaro Shooting Brake

The sixth-generation 2016 Chevrolet Camaro made its grand debut last weekend. Of course, it didn’t take long for people to start imagining it in other forms thanks to the wonder of Photoshop. There was a rendering for a convertible that looked great, as well as a Z/28 (pictured below), and both will likely be close to what we see when in the final product. But the shooting brake is a whole different story.

The rendering comes from X-Tomi Design, and it looks good in principle. The lines of the new Camaro are right there, modified to make the car more practical. It’s like a Camaro in disguise.

The problem comes from that practicality. When has a Camaro ever been a practical car? It’s a good, old-fashioned, American muscle car that isn’t designed to be practical at all. It’s designed to be fun and exciting and definitely not the grocery hauler this shooting brake imagines.

The design is great, but the idea goes against the whole aura of the Camaro. If you want a grocery hauler, there’s a minivan out there with your name on it. Shooting brakes are vogue these days, so although chances are slim we’d see this now, the possibility for it in the future still exists.

But there’s still the question we have to ask: do you love the idea, or hate it?
