It’s been almost three months since everyone’s favorite automotive trio has gone off the air. The men of Top Gear, who essentially paved the way for the likes of every automotive journalist to become rock stars, have been silent since the “fracas” involving Clarkson.
Of course, we’ve had some hilarious musings on Twitter about getting sacked, and we’ve seen James May’s odd little YouTube cooking show, but we haven’t really seen them put together a car film… (exaggerated Clarkson pause for effect) until now.
While the Top Gear TV show has ostensibly been cancelled until the BBC can find a new threesome of presenters, the trio’s live tour has gone on with all the stunts, pageantry, and amazing cars that we all know and love.
This newest video teaser from the Clarkson, Hammond, and May Live harks back to the Top Gear we know and love. It’s a straight up drag race among all three presenters. They have a Mercedes-AMG GT S, a Porsche 911 Turbo S, and the new Corvette Z06. It feels like the Top Gear of old, and makes us hungry for that last episode and a deal with Netflix or ITV to be struck immediately. Fingers crossed we see more of these boys soon.
