BOLD RIDE
The Volvo S60 and V60 Polestars weren’t made in very large numbers. So it was easy to miss your chance at one when they hit sales floors last summer. Of the 750 units produced worldwide, only 120 ended up in America. If you blinked, you probably lost out. Volvo feels your pain, so it’s sending a few more to the US for the 2016 model year.
According to Car Scoops, the run of new 2016 Polestars coming to the U.S. will number 274. The mix will still be 60 percent V60 and 40 percent S60, but more than twice the number previously produced should make getting one slightly easier.
Color choices are expected to once again be either Rebel Blue or Black Sapphire. Official pricing has yet to be announced, but it shouldn’t vary too much from the 2015 models. Those were relatively high-priced at $59,300 and $60,900.
That’s a lot of cash for a compact luxury car, but it’s turned out to be more exclusive and desirable than Volvo expected. The Swedes weren’t even sure whether or not the initial models would sell out, but the high demand called for a new batch.
