BOLD RIDE
In the newest attempt in a long string of automotive PR moves trying to reach Generation Y, Chevrolet sent out a press release announcing the reveal of the 2016 Cruze completely in emoji. Just in case you don’t know what an emoji is, Chevy did use a few actual words to explain that they are “small emotionally expressive digital images and icons in electronic communication.” Thanks for clearing that up, guys. Take a look at the full sheet and see what you can make of it.
That Bowtie emoji is totally made up, but whatever. So why would Chevy do this, you ask? Well, other than the fact that texting is one of the only things teens (aka new, young drivers who are perfect for the Cruze) pay attention to, the American manufacturer says, “Words alone can’t describe the new 2016 Chevrolet Cruze.”
My face: –___–
If you don’t feel like trying to wade through the jumble, the decoded release will be put out today at 2 p.m. ET. Expect plenty of “emotional, best-in-class, and dynamic” adjectives.
