Here’s the problem with concept cars, they’re often these amazing vehicles with beautiful designs that we’d love to see on the road. They can be brilliant, but there’s no guarantee they’ll ever be built. The Buick Avista is one such car as the company has no plans to create a production version.

The Avista was on display at the Detroit and Chicago auto shows, but apparently it didn’t get the reception needed to move forward. The interest at the shows was great, but it wasn’t enough to turn the Avista into a production car.

According to Wards Auto, Buick’s vice president sales and marketing Tony DiSalle said, “It was purely a concept and meant to generate some buzz. No other plans for now.”

It was rumored that the Avista would end up being turned into a sedan that would replace the Regal, but DiSalle shot down that notion. He said the Regal is an important part of the lineup and that it’s not going anywhere. Neither, it seems, is the Avista.
