Over seven billion people populate the earth, but only a lucky 40 of them will be able to call one of these their own—the all new 2017 Lamborghini Centenario.
These supercars will see road use though; Lamborghini has said it only sold cars to devoted customers who promise not to keep them squirreled away. But in case they don’t, here’s a taste of what their glorious exhaust pipes sound like.
A Lamborghini representative was gracious enough to give the Centenario’s pipes a quick blast as onlookers watched at the Geneva Motor Show. Take a look. Impatient? Scroll to the 24-second mark.
That’s quite the rumble. While the Centenario uses the same V12 as the Lamborghini Aventador, in this instance it’s turned to the max and shuttles out 770 furious horsepowers, making it the most powerful road car engine Lamborghini has ever built. It has also been given a longer leash as well. Lamborghini says the V12’s rev limiter has been bumped up from 8,350 rpm to 8,600 rpm.
All told, the dash from zero to 60 mph takes just 2.8 seconds, 186 mph is achieved in just 23.5 ticks of the clock, and top speed is now a blistering 218 mph.
Hopefully, just hopefully, we’ll actually get to see these beasts put to the test. If for nothing else, we now know they’ve got the vocal cords to back up that performance.
