The swan song, the fat lady singing, the final goodbye; whatever you want to call it, this is likely the last refresh of the R35 Nissan GT-R that we’ll ever see. That is, before Nissan starts from scratch with its new version, set to debut in just a few years.

But before then, the GT-R new life for the 2017 model year. The design is more aggressive–a brand new V-motion grille and a revised rear diffuser help with that. The side profile gets a bit edgier, and newly-designed wheels keep things fresh.

While the exterior gets edgier, the interior gets even more luxurious. Hand-selected Nappa leather coats almost every inch. The number of switches was reduced from 27 to 11, and the former 7-inch touchscreen system was replaced with an 8-inch touchscreen system, just to make life a little easier for everyone.

Design elements aside, it’s the power that truly makes this the GT-R’s last hurrah. 565 horsepower comes standard, a healthy 20 horsepower bump from the previous generation. Titanium exhaust comes standard too, with Active Noise Cancellation and Active Sound Enhancement—for when you’re feeling a little raucous.

The final result of all this tweaking and tuning is a GT-R for the modern age. More powerful, better looking, and even more luxurious. It’s on display now at the New York Auto Show, but it won’t be long before it’s terrorizing a suburb near you.
