George Clooney’s Wife Bought Him a $200,000 Porsche For His Birthday

What do you buy the guy who already has everything? If you’re George Clooney’s wife, then you line up a brand new Porsche 911 GT3 RS as a spectacular birthday present. George turns 54 this week, and he took a test drive recently to see if he liked Porsche’s latest offering.

 

Looks like the answer was yes because his wife, Amal, has now made plans to buy the very first Porsche 911 GT3 RS available in the US. According to Mirror, this will replace his existing 911, so he’s not amassing a huge collection of cars, but rather, trading up.

The car made its debut this year at the Geneva Motor Show with a 500 horsepower 4.0-liter naturally aspirated flat six. It can hit 62 mph in 3.3 seconds and 120 mph in 10.9 seconds. The Porsche also posted a Nurburgring lap time of only 7 minutes and 20 seconds, so it’s sure to get the actor’s heart racing .

Pricing in the UK is set at £131,296, which is just under $200,000, so this is quite the birthday splurge and it’s not the only present Amal bought for her husband. She also bought him a new smoothie maker because that’s his favorite drink of the moment. See, Hollywood types give each other normal presents, not just $200,000 sports cars.
