GTA 5 Says Goodbye to Paul Walker in Touching ‘Furious 7′ Tribute

Most people boot up their Grand Theft Auto games to wreak digital mayhem, usually followed by lots of explosions and abundant police chases. Others use the platform for less nefarious reasons – this in-game tribute to the late-great Paul Walker being one of them. 

 

YouTube user GTA Wise Guy carefully reenacted scenes from Furious 7 using Grand Theft Auto 5’s online mode, featuring both Paul Walker and Vin Diesel’s characters, as well as their iconic rides. If you thought the final minutes of Furious 7 made for an epic send-off, this GTA 5 tribute won’t disappoint either.




Wiz Khalifa’s “See You Again” continues to tug at our heartstrings as sweeping shots of family, drag racing, and familiar sights scroll by, culminating in Paul Walker and Vin Diesel’s final fork-in-the-road scene. Admittedly Diesel’s Grand Theft Auto likeness is a bit too slender, though Walker’s avatar hits a bit closer to real life.

This of course comes after news that there will in fact be an eighth installment of the Fast and Furious franchise. Diesel confirmed the eighth movie at last month’s CinemaCon presentation, which is expected to hit theaters in 2017. Given the impact of Furious 7, expect eight (and potentially the last) to be quite the experience.
