1,000HP Apollo Arrow Hypercar Isn’t the ‘World’s Fastest,’ But It’s Pretty Close

If you didn’t think you’d see another supercar with over 1,000 horsepower, you might have underestimated the insanity that is the Geneva Motor Show. This time, the car comes from Apollo—formerly Gumpert—and it’s dubbed the Arrow. Rightfully so.

 

The sharp edges and streamlined design make it an extremely aerodynamic piece of engineering. If you explore the lines of this vehicle closely enough, you might notice some familiar shapes—maybe a rear-quarter panel and roofline similar to the McLaren P1.

But unlike the P1, Apollo opted against the hybrid route. When you lift up the hood, there’s a 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 pumping out 1,000 horsepower. This car is no slouch. From a dead stop it will hit 62 mph in 2.9 seconds, and top off at 223 mph, which makes it well shy of the title “world’s fastest,” but still fast nonetheless.

 

Straight line speed may be important, but for the Arrow, it’s in the corners where it truly counts. The car is completely street legal, but still fulfills all FIA standards. That means it could easily be transitioned into a number of different racing series’ without having to get too much work done.

The Arrow marks a return to form for the Gumpert Apollo brand. Catch it on display at the Geneva Motor Show this week.
