The late-great Bugatti Veyron was—by all accounts—one very, very incredible car. It could do naught to 60 mph in 2.5 seconds, it famously stretched its legs to 267 mph, and with 1,200 horsepower in top-spec… it was no slouch. That all makes for quite the tough recipe to beat, but it would appear Bugatti has done just that. 

The new 2017 Bugatti Chiron is stronger, faster, and it has the numbers to prove it’s a worthy successor to the Veyron throne. What numbers, you say? Take a peek below for 30 jaw-dropping facts and figures that illustrate just how incredible the Bugatti Chiron really is.

€2.4 million – Bugatti Chiron starting price (about $2.6 million)
500 – number of Bugatti Chirons to be built
33% – percentage of cars sold before its Geneva Motor Show debut

TESTING

30 – number of test and prototype vehicles built
500,000 – kilometers of road testing completed (310,685 miles)

That’s 30 if you were counting. And why not an extra figure for good measure—5,000—the total torque (in newton meters) that each specially-designed Michelin tire can safely deliver to the ground. Yikes. This is one incredible piece of engineering.
