We’re expecting a full onslaught from American luxury manufacturer Buick when the 2016 North American International Auto Show rolls out next week. But one thing we didn’t expect was the announcement of a sporty coupe. Consider our interests piqued.
According to Bloomberg, a representative from the company let slip that a new two-door concept will be on display at the Buick booth when the curtain drops. Details are all but nonexistent at this point, but we do know that it will be a “Camaro-sized” vehicle.

Speculations are flying as to whether it will be rear-wheel-drive, or ever find its way into production. But with the brand’s push to draw younger buyers to the brand, we wouldn’t be surprised to see a sporty coupe in the Buick lineup sometime in the near future.

“We are beginning to show what Buick is,” vice president of Buick/GMC Duncan Aldred told Bloomberg. “My goal has been to broaden the reach of Buick.” So far, Buick has been able to broaden its reach with the Encore CUV and upcoming Cascada convertible. Let’s hope a sporty coupe continues the push for more fun cars.
