This is a blog, dedicated to anything to do with the automobile. I'll bring you things like my favorites in a list by importance, different cars, different days. my take on certain cars and their affect on history. I hope to expand my content as ideas come to me.
Is your Porsche 991 Turbo a bit too ordinary? No worries, Russian tuner TOPCAR has you covered with its aggressive Stinger GTR aero kit for the late-model top-of-the-crop 911. If looks could kill…
The company has been around since 2004, aiming to make the most exclusive cars a bit more – er, exclusive – and the Stinger GTR makes good on those goals. To create the car, the TOPCAR team massages in some wide-body flair using an amalgam of carbon fiber and Kevlar, leaving few exterior body panels untouched in the process.
The front bumper receives aero tweaks and aggressive slats, which accompany the widened haunches at the rear of the car. A chiseled beltline extends from fender to fender and tapers off back into a more pronounced rear bumper. The same can be said about the upgraded side skirts that flow upwards into the prominent side vents. TOPCAR will supply a new hood and – to the chagrin of the Porsche purists – a revised rear spoiler.
It’s a treatment that undoubtedly won’t suit every Porsche enthusiast’s taste, but the Stinger GTR certainly has the shock appeal. TOPCAR has previously ventured into the GTR nameplate twice before: once for a Porsche Cayenne body kit (Vantage GTR), and again for a Porsche Panamera kit (Stingray GTR). However, if you’re looking for engine upgrades, you’ll need to look elsewhere. The company is currently putting the finishing touches on its first conversion, which will be officially revealed later this summer at the 2014 Moscow International Automobile Salon.
