Evans Sick

Things aren’t going as smoothly as they could for the new Top Gear now that the old trio has departed. Chris Evans is set to helm the show and he recently spent time on the track in an Audi R8. The experience didn’t agree with him and they were forced to stop because Evans was carsick.

Evans was a passenger in the car, which was being driven by cohost Sabine Schmitz while filming out in California. According to Jalopnik, at some point during filming Evans got too queasy to continue. You can see in the photo that they’re pulled off the track while Evans tries to get himself back together.

Schmitz is a professional driver, so it could simply be that she was taking the track like one and it was a bit too aggressive for Evans. Still, getting carsick isn’t something that’s going to be easy to handle when your job is to drive really fast in expensive cars.

Add this to rumors that he has a hard time driving and talking to the camera and things are looking a little dire. Still, he’s new to the gig so hopefully they’ll get it all figured out and have a great show once it returns to the air on May 8.
