Watch a Koenigsegg Employee’s Reactions to Driving the New Regera

Koenigsegg is on a mission to show they can build supercars without being under the thumb of one of the big automakers. The new Regera plug-in hybrid is out to prove that point and the owner of the company, Christian von Koenigsegg, decided to give one of his employees a special introduction to the supercar.

Steve Wade is Staff Editor at the company’s blog and got a call from his boss asking if he’d like to go for a little ride. Wade might see these cars every day and write about them, but this would only be his second time getting to ride in one. He said yes.

 

Koenigsegg offered to let Wade drive, but he opted instead to film the ride from the passenger seat. According to the Koenigsegg Blog, he had no desire to destroy his company’s test car in the dark in -6 degree Celsius weather. A wise man knows his limits, and such temperatures do not go well with properly warmed-up tires.




What follows is a video of the pair driving through the streets at night while Koenigsegg shows off his pride and joy. It’s not so much the  view, but the audio that’s fascinating. His commentary provides fantastic insight into the car’s mechanics.
